Submission Guidelines

The editorial board of Policies, Administration and Markets Journal (PAMJ) welcomes submissions of original, high-quality manuscripts in English that address topics relevant to the journal's interdisciplinary scope.

These guidelines are intended to assist authors in preparing their manuscripts for submission and to ensure a fair, efficient, and ethical review and publication process. All submitted articles must meet thematic relevance, academic rigor, and ethical integrity as determined by the editorial committee and peer reviewers.

1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear, academic English. Submissions in any other language will not be considered.
  • Originality: Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.
  • Formatting: Authors must follow the PAMJ template provided on the official journal website.
  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format only.
  • Length: The standard article length is 6,000 to 8,000 words (excluding references). Manuscripts exceeding 8,000 Words will incur additional charges (see Publication Fees).
  • Referencing Style: PAMJ uses the IEEE citation format.

2. MANUSCRIPT TYPES ACCEPTED

PAMJ considers the following types of contributions:

  • Original Research Articles: Empirical or theoretical studies with a clear research question, methodology, results, and implications.
  • Review Articles: Systematic reviews or comprehensive literature syntheses on relevant topics.
  • Conceptual Papers: Theoretical contributions that propose new frameworks or advance existing ones.
  • Case Studies and Policy Briefs: In-depth explorations of specific organizational, legal, or policy cases.
  • Special Issue Papers: Articles responding to a specific call-for-papers launched by the editorial board.

3. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE AND COMPONENTS

All manuscripts must include the following sections in the order below:

- Title Page (submitted separately)

  • Full title of the manuscript
  • Author(s)’ full name(s), affiliation(s), email(s), and ORCID iDs
  • Corresponding author clearly indicated
  • Funding statement (if applicable)
  • Conflict of interest declaration

- Main Document (anonymous version)

  • Title (without identifying information)
  • Abstract (150-250 words): Background, methods and tools used (qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, etc.), Key findings and results, Discussion, Conclusion
  • Keywords: 4-6 keywords relevant to the article
  • Introduction: Context, research gap, and objectives
  • Literature Review: Conceptual or theoretical grounding
  • Methodology: Design, data collection, and analytical approach
  • Results: Presentation of key findings
  • Discussion: Interpretation, implications, comparison with prior research
  • Conclusion: Summary, contributions, limitations, and future research directions
  • References: Complete and accurate in  IEEE style
  • Appendices (if applicable): Surveys, instruments, data tables, etc.

Tables and figures should be embedded in the manuscript near where they are referenced and should be numbered sequentially.

4. SUBMISSION PROCESS

All manuscripts must be submitted through the official PAMJ submission system: https://journalpam.com/index.php/home

Steps to follow:

  1. Create or log in to your author account on the platform
  2. Fill in all metadata accurately (title, abstract, author details, keywords)
  3. Upload the anonymized manuscript and the separate title page
  4. Upload supplementary files (if any) such as data sets, appendices, or ethical approval documents
  5. Confirm originality and agreement with journal policies
  6. Submit and track progress through the platform

An email confirmation will be sent after successful submission.

5. PEER REVIEW AND EDITORIAL DECISION

PAMJ applies a double-blind peer review process, which includes:

  • Initial editorial screening for scope and formatting
  • Anonymous evaluation by at least two external reviewers
  • Reviewer recommendations: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject
  • Final decision by the Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor

The typical review cycle takes 6-8 weeks. Authors will receive a detailed decision letter and reviewer comments.

Revisions must be submitted within 15-30 days, depending on the extent of changes requested. A response letter must outline how the reviewer's feedback was addressed.

6. ETHICAL STANDARDS AND PLAGIARISM POLICY

Authors must adhere to academic and research integrity. All manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., iThenticate).

Submissions must comply with the journal’s Ethical Guidelines, which require:

  • Proper attribution and citation of all sources
  • Ethical approval for research involving human subjects
  • Disclosure of funding and conflicts of interest
  • No dual submissions or duplicate publications

Violations will result in immediate rejection or retraction, and possible notification to the author’s institution.

7. PUBLICATION FEES

  • First Issue: No fees for accepted articles
  • Second Issue and Beyond: €150 per article upon acceptance
  • Excess Page Charges: €10 per page beyond 8.000 Words
  • No fees are charged for the submission or peer review stages

8. POST-ACCEPTANCE AND PRODUCTION

Once accepted, the article undergoes:

  • Copyediting for language and formatting consistency
  • Assignment of a DOI (Digital Object Identifier)
  • Online publication under a Creative Commons License (CC BY 4.0)
  • Indexing in Google Scholar, CrossRef, ROAD, OpenAIRE, and others

Authors will receive a final PDF version of their article for approval before publication.

9. CORRECTIONS AND RETRACTIONS

Authors may request a correction of minor factual or formatting errors after publication. In the event of serious ethical or scientific errors, the journal reserves the right to issue:

  • A correction notice
  • A retraction
  • An expression of concern

All such cases will be managed according to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) procedures.
