Publication Fees

The Policies, Administration and Markets Journal (PAMJ) operates as an independent academic publication committed to the principles of open-access publishing, editorial integrity, and equitable access to scholarly dissemination. To ensure transparency and sustainability of editorial and technical operations, the journal applies a structured publication fee policy as outlined below.

1. Fee Exemption for the First Issue

To support the launch of PAMJ and encourage wide participation from the academic community, no publication fees will be charged for articles accepted and published in the first issue of the journal.

  • This exemption applies to all authors, regardless of institutional affiliation or geographic origin.
  • All editorial, peer review, formatting, DOI assignment, and online hosting services are fully covered by the journal for the first issue.
  • Submissions will still undergo rigorous peer review and must meet all publication standards.

2. Standard Fees for Subsequent Issues

Starting from the second issue onward, the journal will apply a standard publication fee. This fee is used to cover the following services:

  • Double-blind peer review management
  • Copyediting and formatting
  • DOI registration and metadata submission
  • Hosting and indexing integration
  • Long-term digital preservation
  • Open-access availability under Creative Commons license (CC BY 4.0)

Fee Amount:

€150

(Euros) per accepted article (regardless of the number of authors)

APPLICABLE FROM: Second issue of PAMJ and for all future issues

3. Payment Conditions

  • Fees are only due after the article has been formally accepted for publication following the peer review process.
  • Authors will receive an official invoice with bank transfer instructions or online payment options.
  • The article will not be published until payment has been confirmed by the journal’s administrative office.

Note: No fees are charged for submission or peer review. Payment is only applicable upon acceptance.

4. Refund and Waiver Policy

Since payment is requested only after acceptance, publication fees are generally non-refundable. PAMJ may consider partial or full waivers in exceptional circumstances, particularly for:

  • Early-career researchers without institutional funding
  • Researchers from low-income or lower-middle-income countries (as per World Bank classification)
  • Authors publishing in special issues supported by external sponsors or partner institutions

Waiver requests must be submitted in writing at the time of submission, with appropriate justification.

5. No Hidden Charges

PAMJ maintains a transparent pricing model:

  • No additional charges are applied for standard publication features such as page numbering, figures, tables, or color illustrations.
  • However, to maintain editorial and production balance, if an article exceeds 8.000 words , an additional fee of €10 per extra page will be applied.
  • No embargo periods: articles are immediately available upon publication.
  • No article processing charges (APCs) for submissions that are rejected or withdrawn.
